Happy New Year!

New Year's Eve is a great time to look at your relationship as a couple and assess where you want your relationship to be in the coming years........

It is a time to let go of past hurts, forgive each other for wrongs that may have been done, and to realize that continued success of any relationship takes work, forgiveness, compassion, understanding, patience and UNCONDITIONAL love.....

The New Year begins tomorrow.  Each and every day that follows is a gift.  Make your gift to each other be to love with your heart and soul, and to try to be the best partner you can possibly be.  Think of ways to keep your love alive and fresh, and never forget that love brought you together.

Happy New Year, Happy New Life, Happy Love, Forever!!!!!!!!!

Top Questions for an officiant LovingUnity.com

Are we able to write our own vows??

We believe it is YOUR wedding, it should reflect your own style and wishes.  We can, of course,
provide you with some sample wedding vows and ring exchange vows, along with ideas of how to present them to each other, but we WELCOME your input.  You can write the words you wish to say to each other, or you can just speak from your heart, or you can write a love letter to share with each other.  Sometimes, we run into a couple who is extremely shy and wants to say a few words, and in that case, we simply state the vow for you and ask, "Is this your solemn vow?" and you would of course say, "It is, or I do".     The words that you express on your wedding day will resonate throughout your married lives together...............they should be meaningful and heartfelt.

Let us help you to create words that express your love and commitment to each other....

Real Wedding Rebecca and Pete in New Port Richey, Florida

Rebbecca and Pete happily tied the knot in New Port Richey recently.  Congratulations!!!

Their ceremony was spiritual, short and sweet.  The wedding and reception took place at The Madison Square Special Event.

The couple chose the color scheme of Red and Black and used it throughout the ceremony and the reception.

The wedding cake incorporated a red convertible that was quite cute.

Rev. David Bishop officiated.  We wish them the very best for a lifetime of love and happiness.

Top Questions for an officiant LovingUnity.com

I am going to tell you some of the top questions asked of an officiant, and answer them as best I can. Feel free to send along suggestions, or questions that you would like to see answered.

We are planning to be married in March of 2013 in the Tampa Bay Area, not sure of the exact location, are you available?  How far in advance should we book our minister?

First, I will hope that I have that date available.  The first step you should take when you know you will be married is to secure the officiant. Without an officiant, the wedding doesn't take place! If you know your date and time, that is wonderful!  The location should be next.  Officiants book very quickly and you really don't want to be disappointed.

Real Wedding at the Tradewinds Elizabeth and Brandon

The Four Pillars that are the foundation of Elizabeth and Brandon's Wedding Ceremony at the Tradewinds on beautiful St. Pete Beach  this afternoon were.....

Love.....  Faith..... Friendship..... and Honesty.....

and they will be the basis for their marriage going forward.  Elizabeth and Brandon carefully and thoughtfully wrote their ceremony with me the words that would form their lives together.

Elizabeth and Brandon traveled here here from Missouri with their closest family and friends to share their vows and begin their lives together as a married couple.

Elizabeth's mom served as her Matron of Honor and Brandon's brother was the best man.  The couple chose to circulate their wedding rings to the witnesses to enable them to place a blessing upon them for the couple.

The ceremony was truly intimate and their gathering immediately following on the lawn of the Tradewinds was stunning...

Alaina and the staff at the Tradewinds did another fantastic job and made the couple and their family and friends feel completely at ease.

For the group photo, you will see, special bright green T shirts were crafted that read Powell and Sharp Wedding with the date.  A fun time was had by all!

I wish them all the best, and I am so honored that I was able to officiate and create with them their beautiful ceremony.

Juniper Trio for incredible Celtic Wedding Music!

Recently, I had the pleasure to enjoy the Celtic music of Juniper. In fact, I was so impressed by them, I introduced myself to them, and asked them about their work and their availability for weddings. I was pleasantly surprised at their response and YES of course, they would be honored to work with us for the Celtic Weddings, or any weddings where the couple would like some very special music.  Frances and Jasmin would love for you to visit their website and enjoy some of their music and keep them in mind for weddings or other special events. I know I will!

Who is JUNIPER?

JUNIPER is the Traditional Celtic/Alternative Folk duo of Frances Pisacane (fiddle) and Jasmine Hart (guitar & vocals). While on their Annual Summer Mountain Tour, they recorded their third CD, "Live From The Appalachians", which has just been voted #3 Celtic Album Of The Year (2008) by WNCW in Asheville, NC. In January, Juniper opened for The Dublin Philharmonic Orchestra and in March, they celebrated their 10-year music anniverary with another appearance on CBS Television's "Studio 10". Their second CD, "Stepping Stones", was also nominated Album Of The Year in 2007...
Juniper weaves a tight tapestry of haunting melodies and lush harmonies. Sprinkle in some fiery rhythms and compelling vocals and you have the unique sound which transports Juniper's fans to an ancient time with jigs, reels and aires, and then brings them back with original Alternative Folk compositions.

Real Wedding Wes and Jenn at Turtle Cove Marina and Yacht Club

Turtle Cove Marina & Yacht Club

Jenn and Wes selected the Turtle Cove Marina and Yacht Club in Tarpon Springs for their very special day........................
What is more special that getting married?  Wes and Jen thought it would be wonderful to baptize their son since all of the guests would already be there.

It was a beautiful and memorable time for everyone.

The guests were unaware that a baptism was to follow the nuptuals and were pleasantly surprised.

After the wedding and the baptism, the couple shared a butterfly release with their immediate family.  As you can see, some got an up close and personal look at the butterflies.

Wes and Jenn were such a great couple to work with, and their son enjoyed all of the attention he received that day as well.

Congratulations Wes and Jenn!

A Chocolate WIne Ceremony......I think I will have it for my renewal!

The Chocolate Wine Ceremony

March 6, 2012

A Non-denominational Wedding Ceremony Tradition

If you love the idea of having a personally meaningful ceremony- something that adds an element of the sacredness to your wedding, this unique ceremony may be just what you are looking for. It is a way for a couple to express the bond they were forming. There is also a kind of innocent sexiness in a way that is appropriate for family but speaks deeply to the couple participating in this ceremony.
"There will come in your life days of great sweetness, and days of bitter sorrow. There will be celebrations, and there will be tears. There will be triumphs, and there will be tragedies. Life holds indescribable happiness in store for you both - and unavoidable pain, as well. And so to symbolize your acceptance of this reality, today you will share the bitter and the sweet, just as you will share them in the years to come. Both of you will now share this bitter, dark chocolate. Taste in it the dark days which will rock your marriage and test its strength. It represents disappointment, illness, grief. Know that these hard times will come, and with them, the opportunity to deepen your bond as husband and wife"
Other Variations of a Wine Ceremony include:
  • One ceremony is to pour a glass of wine, talk about its aging and mellowing and about sharing wine together, then each the bride and groom drink from it. We've seen couples pass the wine glass to their family members as a remembrance of the history of their families, now united.
  • Another version of the wine ceremony is that 2 glasses are poured and the bridal couple drinks while their arms are locked. This is a little tricky, so you want to practice this before the big day!
  • The Jewish wedding calls for drinking wine and then taking a glass, wrapped in a cloth, and crushing it underfoot.
  • Another variation is having a glass of red wine and a glass of white wine. The Couple drink from each glass and then they pour their wine together in a separate glass, and the new glass of wine looked like a rosé. The officiate talks about the color of their wines and the blending of their hearts together to become one.
You can even use your own imagination and come up with something even more unique to the two of you! One couple chose to have Chocolate and Peanut Butter.

Real Celtic Wedding by LovingUnity.com Dawn and Mark

When Dawn Ireland and Mark Stewart decided to tie the knot, they wanted a small, intimate, wedding on the beach, the was celtic to honor their heritages. The area was prepared with a circle, representing the cyclic and eternal nature of life itself.

The Prelude,  "Endearing Young Charms", a traditional irish song that reminds us true love is not based on transient, outward beauty.

The bride was escorted in by her dad, to the music "Morag of Dunvegan", a Scottish tune about marrying your true love.

After the words of welcome by Rev. Virginia Bishop, the couple were invited to step into the circle to begin their ceremony.

The bride wore a magnificent lace gown, with green shoes!  Her dad and mom wore their traditional clan plaid accessories.  At the beginning of the ceremony, the Declaration of Love reading that was selected by the couple was read.

. In addition to their vows and ring exchange, Dawn and Mark had a handfasting ritual. The handfasting was done using a piece of the groom's tartan, wrapped around the wrist of the couple, symbolizing unity.  It is from this tradition, that we get the term "Tied the knot".

After the closing blessings, the couple left the inner circle to the tune "Westering Home", a Celtic folk song about returning to your homeland.

After the wedding, the parents proudly signed the marriage license as witnesses to the wedding.

The couple shared the roots of their Celtic Surnames:
Ireland:  Irish/Scotts - someone who comes from Ireland. Can be traced back to the ancient Kingdom of Dalriada in Scotland. Clan Motto:  Love and Peace.

Stewart: Scottish - From the word steward, one who is in charge of the King's Royal Household. The Stewart family held the Scottish Crown for several centuries, the most famous member being Mary Queen of Scotts.  Clan Motto:  Courage Grows Stronger at the Wound.

Weddings at Cooper Vineyards in Virginia

On my search of great venues to have a wedding, I visited the Cooper Vineyards in Louisa County Virginia.  In addition to magnificent tasting wines - my favorite is the Noche Chocolate Wine - the vineyard is spectacular.  In addition to the vineyard area, there is a pond, and many acres of different varieties of grapes.    The location is one in which nature provides the beautiful backdrop.  Your guests can enjoy both indoor and outdoor seating, and for the couple there are two "get ready rooms" and a room for the grooms as well.  Inside there is a baby grand piano, and stonework on the wall that would look great in your photos.  There is a balcony with ample seating where a buffet or your cocktail hour could be held.  This is one fantastic  location.  I hope to officiate YOUR wedding or other special event there.

Many thanks today to Dorothy Cole for the tour and hospitality.  Dorothy will assist you with any needs that you may have about your event.

Real Wedding Jason and Rochelle Sandpearl Resort

Jason and Rochelle began dating 9 years ago and through the course of time, through the ups and downs of life, Jason and Rochelle fell madly in love.  The Sandpearl was a very special place for them while they were dating, and that was why they decided to get married on the beach there.

We are proud that Jason and Rochelle selected the officiating services of  Loving Unity.  Rev. David Bishop performed
The small, intimate, wedding ceremony, and the couple wrote their exquisite vows to each other.  I have never heard such meaningful and heartfelt vows.  It is truly a pleasure to work with a couple who wants to create their own unique ceremony, and that the ceremony is a significant part of their day.

Congratulations Rochelle and Jason, may you be truly blessed forever with the magic of your relationship!
